WFTU solidarity statement on the Earthquake in Taiwan
The Secretariat of the World Federation of Trade Unions expresses its sincere condolence to suffering peoples from an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 which struck an area located 22 kilometers north of the city of Hualien in Taiwan, according to information.
The earthquake has cost the lives of at least 9 people. More than 270 were injured and significant material damages were caused by the earthquake.
The World Federation of Trade Unions representing 92 million workers in the 5 continents and the international class-oriented trade union movement, declares its solidarity with the families and relatives of the victims.
