Czech Postal Service ready to strike
A Statement by Trade Union Association of Bohemia, Moravia & Silesia (OSCMS), Czech Republic, on Supporting of Czech Postal Service Employees
OSCMS unambiguously supports the Czech Postal Service workers as el as their Trade Union organizations in their decision to go on strike on Monday, December 19, 2016, declaring it as the two-hours-warning-strike.
We see their demand for their wages to be increased by CZK 2,500 (€ 92) as the justified one, due to the fact that an approximate wage within Czech Post Enterprise is CZK 21,400 (€ 791). It is not only deeply below the national approximate wage, but it is also below the median one (CZK 23,527). It is the fact, too, there are big income differences amongst the employees of Czech Postal Service itself.
Their wages to be increased by 2.6 per cent, as agreed up-to-now by another trade unions of Czech Mail Enterprise, it is regarded by the OSCMS as both partial and insufficient, because just so, their wages would increase only by CZK 556 (€ 20.60).
From the OSCMS’s point of view, their wages should increase onto the median level at least, what means the increase by CZK 2,127 (€ 78.66).
